Introduction of intensive care ambulance

In Iran, ambulances are classified into three groups A, B, and c. According to the standard 4373 of the National Institute of Standards, each of which has its own conditions and facilities, they are obliged to regulate according to their standards. Comply with these regulations regarding the type of vehicle and equipment inside the cabin, each type of ambulance is used for a specific type of patient.

These requirements are examined by inspectors from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education. All intensive care ambulances must also go to medical universities for specific courses to renew their specialist medical examination card.

 

Differences between type A, B, and C intensive care ambulances

Ambulance type A.

Type A ambulances are used to transport patients who are in a stable condition and have relatively good alertness. Type A ambulances are produced in two models of extended chassis and off-road, designed to move on impassable routes. It is used for regular courses in the city. This type of ambulance, which is approved according to the standard 4374 of the National Standards Institute, is used only for patients who are conscious and have undergone the initial stages of treatment in one of the city’s medical centers. This type of intensive care ambulance costs much less than other available types because it does not have some equipment.

 

 

If these ambulances are called normal type, it does not mean that they have no equipment or experienced medical staff.

 

Ambulance type B.

This type of intensive care ambulance is designed and manufactured to transport critically ill patients, has intensive care facilities and complete equipment. This type of ambulance is called ICU mobile. The equipment inside these ambulances leads to more than ten models of medical systems and devices. These include the following:

 

 

  1. Ventilator: Full mobile parameter (has all respiratory, volumetric, and compression modes) 
  2. Multi-function heart shock device with vital signs display and monitor 
  3. Resuscitation bag
  4. Medicine bag 
  5. Central suction system
  6. Central oxygen system
  7. Infusion pump
  8. Syringe pump
  9. Types of splints
  10. Kid
  11. Burn set
  12. Maternity set
  13. Glucometer

 

Ambulance type C.

The most equipped ambulance in other types of ambulances is intensive care. Besides other available facilities in ambulances of different types, they have more advanced treatments such as resuscitation facilities, ICU, and CCU. It can be considered as a portable emergency center. There are all three types of ambulances in Iran, each of which is used in particular circumstances.
